Today Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner announced that the beta of Internet Explorer 9 will be released in September. Although later than expected, developers and end users are looking forward to seeing the new version of the web browser, which includes support for HTML 5 video among other features.
Internet Explorer 9 is said to be a huge improvement over Internet Explorer 8, with much anticipated standards compliance and additional functionality. Microsoft still has a lot to do to catch up with other browsers, such as Firefox and Chrome, which are updated on a regular basis.
No official release date has been announced, however most in the industry believe the final version will not be released until 2011.
