Halogenics Leverages Open Source Javascript

Halogenics, a development firm out of Melbourne has high hopes for developing an all new prototype within the next few months. With the goal of producing a prototype version of the next-generation of its Genotrack application. Genotrack, which helps biomedical research institutions manage animal tracking, breeding and reporting, is currently based on a classic client-server architecture. Followed by Genotrack 2 which will be a Web application built with open source components including MongoDB for the database component and a Node.js-based application server with a Sencha Ext JS interface.
